Professional degrees do not replace the traditional three-level university education, i.e. a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree, but are appropriate complementary higher education for career and professional orientation, so they are not academic degrees.
The MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree is awarded in the Czech Republic as a non-academic professional degree, written after the name. It is an additional higher education for managers, for example current or aspiring managers in multinational companies, where it is often required for these positions, as well as for workers in the state administration or independent entrepreneurs.
It is therefore a "managerial professional degree", in addition to the MBA there are also variants of the BBA or DBA, these degrees are also offered by foreign universities or their branches in addition to Czech universities. The study is usually two-semester, but the student can often determine the pace of his/her studies to a certain extent. The study is as practical as possible and is always paid in the Czech Republic, including at public universities. Schools offering this degree are affiliated with associations of MBA schools.

The BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) is a kind of preparation for the MBA. This degree is primarily intended for high school graduates with no or minimal experience in management positions. On the other hand, the DBA is the "doctoral" version of the MBA, and is mainly intended for senior managers who want to achieve the highest level of managerial professional degree. The course of study usually lasts between three and five years.
The LLM (Master of Laws) is a professional degree designed for graduates with a law degree or for graduates with a non-law degree with legal experience. It is therefore suitable not only for lawyers and attorneys, but also for executives, directors, managers, and workers in public administration. The study is mostly focused on commercial and corporate law. It is a one- to three-year study depending on the specialization, until recently it was possible to obtain this degree only abroad, today it is offered by many universities in the Czech Republic.
The MSc. (Master of Science) is intended for graduates of at least a Bachelor's degree. It covers various fields from IT to natural sciences to social sciences. The specific focus of the programme is then expressed after the degree; unlike the MBA, the MSc. is less practically oriented and contains more theoretical elements. It usually lasts between one and two and a half years.
