What is MPA?
It is a university degree (Master of Public Administration = MPA), which is written after the name but can be obtained by studying at a university or institution that is accredited, usually by an international accreditation society. This study is classified as a professional study in the Czech Republic and is mainly focused on practical knowledge and skills most often, as the name suggests, in the field of management in public administration. This type of study is suitable for managerial/supervisory positions especially in public administration or persons who want to obtain this position. According to the Bologna Process, it belongs to the second cycle and is referred to in Europe as EQF 7 = Master's degree. In the Czech Republic it is still considered as a professional degree and is not supported by the Act 111/1998 Coll. In the outside world this study has more weight than the study with the degree of Mgr. The quality of the MPA studies is most often known by the content of the educational programme (according to the number of ECTS), it should be similar to the Bologna Process.
